An exceptionally clean 2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a gold top finish, currently resides in our showroom, waiting to find a new home - One very careful owner, with home use only, so ther than some pick marks on the scratchplate and some very very light grazes to the top surface of the nitro finish, this is about as clean as it gets - For sale at £1399 including the Gibson deluxe case - Remember this is the pre-2008 model, so you don't get the silly locking jack socket and the 'see thru' control plate - From 2002 onwards until 2008, this is the LP Standard that Gibson should be making and as such don't need to tweak anything - You get a set of the excellent Gibson Burst Bucking pick-ups, to deliver that historic tone - It is very hard, or even impossible to fully determine which versions of the Burstbuckers are on which guitar, but our meter shows a 7.4K reading on the neck pick-up and 7.8K on the bridge pick-up, so very much in the vintage paf area (the tag on the neck pick-up states RHY Pro, if you can determine anything from that) - the bridge pick-up is wound with a touch more output, as you'd expect - The guitar has the more comfortable, or slimmer, 60's profile - We've re-strung the guitar with a set of 10's, polished the frets, applied some lemon oil on the rosewood fingerboard and checked all other adjustments, to ensure that it is well set-up - Do we really need to discuss the tone of an LP ? - Without getting into the VOS/Historic Collection models, select Custom Shop models, or a genuione vintage LP, this is as good as it gets
