Meet The Boss

Guitars4You is owned lock stock and barrel by Mark Hopkin. I have a lifetime's experience in the retail guitar business, going all the way back to 1978, when I started full time in the family business, Wisher (Derby) Ltd. My grandfather and father spent a lifetime in the music business, my father was practically born in a music shop, so over the years the 3 generations helped to establish Wisher's as a succesful, popular and knowledgeable music shop. Following the sale of Wisher's to Carlsbro Retail in the late 80's, I continued to work with the new owners for a few years as the Derby branch manager. In the early 90's Mark Hopkin's Guitar Gallery was born in Derby, a small yet discerning guitar shop, with a reputation for selling quality guitars throughout the UK and Europe. A few years later this merged into Play It Again Sam (part of the Academy of Sound chain). Following a number of years working for AOS, as a branch manager, I later became part of the senior company management. Whilst gaining tremendous business knowledge and experience, I quickly became disillusioned working for a corporate company, buying and selling 'cardboard boxes'. The desire to leave and start my own business was hatched, and in the summer of 2004, 2 years after the birth of my daughter, Guitars4You was born.

Nearly 35 years spent in the guitar business ensures that I have acquired a considerable amount of knowledge and experience, to give me the ability to run my business in the manner that I believe is important to you, the customer. Key ingredients are the quality of the stock, good customer service, integrity, a vast product knowledge and a competitive price. However, as any good chef will tell you, it takes more than just a few carefully selected ingredients to make a tasty meal, it's knowing how to blend them all together and that is what I feel we are able to offer at Guitars4You. Let's hope you agree.

What Is Our Business

In short, we live, eat and sleep electric guitars - we are the exact opposite of your regular high street music shop. We don't sell amps, acoustic guitars, bass guitars or pedals (other than T-Rex) and we certainly don't have a showroom full of far eastern imports. We have a clear and defined policy of doing it right or not at all and as such we focus all our time, effort and funds into offering a superior selection of highly desirable guitars. Visit our showroom or browse the website and you'll soon appreciate how serious we are about guitars as you view a selection of guitars not found on the corporate high street. View the Midlands finest selection of new and used PRS Guitars, alongside an impressive display of Fender Custom Shop guitars - include a few chosen pieces from Tom Anderson, James Trussart, G&L, Duesenberg and Musicman, along with a tasty selection of second hand guitars from the likes of Gibson and the Guitars4You collection of premium grade guitars is complete. Our website is designed to enable you to view our stock easily, with detailed information and pictures of each instrument. This product information is not generated by a computer stock list, or copied directly from the manufacturer's website, but from my vast knowledge and years of experience along with my passion. If you require further information then simply give me a call or send an email. The website is fresh and updated on a regular basis.

Guitars4You offer:-

- A serious selection of new and used premium grade guitars
- A competitive pricing policy
- Part exchanges
- Nearly 35 years of knowledge, experience and integrity
- Friendly, down to earth service
- We care about guitars as much as you do
- Clean, tidy and peaceful showroom
- All guitars are clean and set-up - dirty, scruffy and dog eared guitars are banned
- check-up, set-up and repair service
- Mail order service - fully insured - UK, Europe and worldwide

We are always looking to buy and sell new or used premium grade instruments including custom shop models, vintage replicas, historic collection, rare or limited edition guitars, along with a few quirky items from the past.

Finally, we may have a small business with regard to the physical size of the showroom, the number of staff employed or even the lack of 100's of far Eastern budget guitars in stock, but we are a professional, caring and serious guitar business. In short, you are dealing directly with me, my reputation and everything that goes with it - thank you - Mark Hopkin

Part Exchange/Used Guitars

We are always looking to buy and/or part exchange used premium grade instruments including custom shop models, vintage replicas, historic collection, rare or limited edition guitars, along with a few quirky items from the past.

Warranties

All of our used guitars are cleaned, checked, re-strung and set-up prior to offering them for sale, so we hope no warranty claim is ever required. We offer a free adjustment set-up service within 90 days of purchase. With this in mind, we find a used warranty claim is almost non-existent. Some of our used guitars are so new that we can often transfer over the remaining balance of a manufacturer's warranty. However, we will happily offer a 30, 60 or 90 day warranty as required by you.
